Tracks:
A small feline track with 4 toes usually showing in the front and hind tracks. Tracks are asymmetrical with toe 3 usually leading the others. The toes appear very long and there is considerable space between the toes and the heel pad.
Similar tracks:
The margay (Leopardus wiedii) and ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) may have larger tracks and comparatively shorter, rounder toes. Oncilla (Leopardus tigrinus) has smaller tracks. Other jungle cats are much larger. Canine tracks are more symmetrical and usually have a proportionally smaller heel pad and show claws.
Notes:
We have very few known photographs of the tracks of this species. If you have any information or photos of known species, please contact us.
