Tracks:
Crab-eating raccoon tracks almost always show 5 toes in the front and hind feet.  The toes are long and slender with short claws and the tracks can somewhat resemble a human hand.  The foot is plantigrade in that the full heel pad often registers.  Raccoon tracks are often found in a 2 by 2 walking pattern, where pairs of opposite front and hind tracks are side by side.

Similar tracks:
The South American coati (Nasua nasua) has a similar track except the claws on the front feet are very long and the toes are fused together and don’t splay.
