Tracks:
The tracks of this armadillo show 2 toes (sometimes 4) in the front track and 3 toes (sometimes 5) in the hind track.  Claws are prominent in both front and hind feet.  The toes in the front tracks are straight and long.  The toes in the hind tracks are more thick and long.

Similar tracks:
The nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus) has smaller tracks but there may be some overlap.  The middle toe on the hind foot may be more bulbous on this species than in the nine-banded armadillo.

Notes:
We have very few known photographs of the tracks of this species.  If you have any information or photos of known species, please contact us.
